Sea Kayaking Tour, Phang Nga Bay

Hidden lagoon, Panak Island

Sea Kayaking is the key to the secret world of Phang Nga Bay, which is filled with towering limestone stacks and islands. In some of these islands have mother nature worked hard over the years to create beautiful lagoons hidden deep inside.

Only accessible by kayak through up to 250 meters long dark caves and to make it even better one of them have thousands of bats hanging from the roof.

This hidden lagoons will only give you access at certain times of the day when the tide is just right, not too low, not too high.

Visit a secluded island before transfer back to jetty and hotel
At places the clearance can be very tight forcing you to lie flat on your back and sometimes it can be necessary to let out air from the kayak to get through.
But once you get in to the lagoon the scenery is beautiful with mangrove forests in green water, surrounded by up to 1000 feet high limestone cliffs.
Totally isolated from the outside world, the only sound you will hear is from the birds singing.

Sea Kayak trips in Phang Nga Bay has become one of the more popular tours you can take. And with popularity comes traffic jams, when up to 40 kayaks are waiting for their turn to squeeze through the narrow cave opening that leads out from the hidden lagoon.

But still a trip to be recommended so long you don't mind exploring the lagoons together with a bunch of tourists.

A typical day include one hour with boat from Ao Po, the northeast corner of Phuket, to Panak island and Hong island to explore the hidden lagoons and the area around. Then lunch and afterward going to nearby James Bond Island. And to the end stopping at Lawa or Naka island for swimming and relaxing before going back to the pier.

Prices vary a lot from company to company, but our experience going with both the most expensive and the cheapest company is that it's the same tour with no notable difference.
