TON SAI
|
The area near the pier is occupied by a long row of longtail and larger boats, so swimming is not possible here.
Best part of the beach is a 4-8 minutes walk towards the cliffs past Phi Phi Hospital. This part of the beach is a very quiet area far away from the busy Phi Phi Don Village.
You will never see many tourists at this remote part of Ton Sai even in high season.
The white sandy beach has beautiful scenery with lush rainforest covered limestone cliffs towering over the western end that continues further back from the beach.
Ton Sai is a nice enough beach but I seldom swim here because further out in deep water the bay is crowded with boats. It feels like swimming next to a harbor, so I prefer to go somewhere else.
For those interested to stay here for a night or two, P.P Sand Seaview Resort are building new air-con bungalows next to the beach.
