SURIN BEACH
Length : 800 meters
Location: Two minutes south of Bang Tao Beach Click here for map View map in Google Earth |
Surin has always been famous for its crystal clear water. After swimming in the clear water at Surin, you will never again want to go back to Patong Beach!
If bored of swimming and sunbathing, the beach has watersports like parasailing, banana boat, jet skies, water skies...
For snorkeling go to the south end of the beach where lots of colorful tropical fish swim along the rocks. There are also a few corals but nothing special.
When hunger calls, sit down at one of the countless restaurants lining the beach. Both Thai and western food is served and I am sure you will find your own favorite place where you can watch the sunset whilst enjoying a cold beer.
At the north end is a palm fringed hill where beach vendors take a break after their hard work trying to sell you everything from peanuts to silk.
This is my favorite part of the beach. More space and less people. And I love the extra large wooden sunbeds (100 baht) they have here. But not so happy with the new concrete buildings that has been build right on the beach lately. It make the beach less beautiful!
On the way to the north end of the beach, you will walk past Catch - Phuket’s most fashionable beach club. The most luxurious place on the beach!
Behind the beach is a park that separates it from the road to Pansea and Bang Tao Beach where the two popular resorts, Surin Beach Resort and Twinpalms Resort are located, 200 meters from the beach. The park was more than 60 years ago Phuket's first golf course.
