Banana Rock Beach
is a small hidden beach that not that many tourists know about. (Update Feb 2010: Never seen so many tourists here before. We had to stay on the part of the beach where debris make the beach less beautiful.)

Finding the steep path from the road down to the beach trough the forest is not easy if you don't know where to look. But if you look closely you can spot the beach from the road. Most people arrive on longtail boats from nearby beaches.
Banana is located south of Andaman White Beach Resort between Bang Tao and Nai Thon.
There is a big chance that if you go early in the day, only the vendors, that has been removed from Nai Thorn Beach, will greet you. Else you should be lucky if you see 20-30 tourists a whole day in high season! In low season the beach is deserted.
Banana Rock Beach is divided in two by a rock formation where only the south end has sunbeds and umbrellas.
Banana has perfect clear water for swimming, with 10 meters visibility close to the beach on a day when the sea was not calm! I love to swim in the beautiful sea here at Banana Rock Beach. Whish I could go every day!
There are some beautiful corals with lots of fish around the rocks to the south. It can't compare with Kata Beach but still nice!
Sunbed cost 100 baht for whole day. Same as Patong, Karon and Kata.
Be warned that Thai food at the small restaurant cost the double of Singapore. But then tourists in Phuket have too much money anyway, so why complain?
Banana Rock Beach is a pearl in the Andaman Sea that I hope the crowds will steer away from the next 20 years.
