Go Kart can be lots of fun and action packed, especially at an outdoor circuit where difficulty weather conditions can influence the behavior of the kart as the story at the bottom of the page will tell you.

But first, some information:
Phuket have one go kart circuit with restaurant and flood lightning for after dark races with a track length of 750 meters. Open from 10 am to nightfall. Patong Go-kart Speedway is located over Patong Hill on the way from Patong Beach to Phuket City.

Patong Go-Kart Speedway Co. Ltd. has been formed in 1990. The gokart track with a tangible concept of being professional, was built to include an expanded stretched racing track of 750 meters with exciting challenges and flood lightning for evening races.

FOR OUR CUSTOMERS WE GOT 27 KARTS FROM 160cc-400cc ! High Speed Super Karts ,Standart Single Karts, TWO SEATER KARTS AND KID KARTS capable of speeds from 40 up to 110 km per hour, are well-maintained by qualified staff. There are no reports of injury due to carelessness on the part of anyone involved with the track. Safety is a concern at the track!

A DAY AT PATONG GO-KART SPEEDWAY

Driving Go Kart in heavy rain can be dangerous. My Thai girls Go Kart went crazy.

We where two couples staying in Patong, three farangs and one Thai girl named Po, that one morning decided to try Go Kart.

Off we go on two motorbikes to Kathu on the other side of the hill. We thought we was lucky with the weather, the sun shining after days with rain.

Po and I had never before tried Go Kart. In the start I droved slowly to get used to the car, but Po like most Thais love to go fast. Soon she was out of sight.
After half of our 10 min ride, weather changed very fast. Just to remind us that we was on a tropical island at the end of raining season where there one moment is sun and the next moment heavy rain.

To avoid a accident we all droved slowly in the curves, except for Po, she didn't slow down!

In the curve facing the main road, the car went off the wet road, sliding over the grass, through some tires that was meant to stop you, but the speed was too high, through the air with Po thrown off, landing several meters from the car that continued through a fence before ending up close to the main road.

Staff at the track rushed over to take care of her. She needed help to walk and she cried. Soon an ambulance arrived, but lucky for her nothing was broken, she only had to rest a few days.
