KAMALA IS BACK TO NORMAL
Kamala looked pretty normal both south and north of Kamala Beach Hotel. I couldn't find any reason not to stay at Kamala with more tailor shops that I can count. Bars, restaurants, massage, dive shops, 7-eleven, guesthouses and resorts are again open along the beach road.
There are construction going on at the school. And the park next to the beach at Print Kamala Resort are not finished. Print Kamala Resort itself looked like it was back in business, but a large building that I think is part of the resort is under construction.
Tourists are back too with sun beds lining most of the beach. Along Kamala Beach Hotel the beach was packed with families enjoying the hot sun.
The beach itself is as beautiful as always and the water at the north end was crystal clear (around 6 meters). The beach along Kamala Beach Hotel had too much waves the day I stayed there so I don't know if the sea is as clear as at to the north.
Kamala Beach Hotel looked like there was never a tsunami. Next to the hotel are open air restaurants instead of the shop / restaurant buildings that was damaged by the tsunami.
The pictures that follow is taken while walking along the beach road. They are not "picture perfect", but they should show that Kamala is back to normal. I tried to identify so many bars, shops, resorts and so on that I could from the pictures, but I am sure that I have missed some.

I had the worst hangover today since I come to Thailand a month ago. But lucky for me Thailand is the land of massage. After waking up, Thai massage was only a phone call away. After 30 minutes a women came to my room and massaged me for two hours for only 100 baht a hour + motorbike taxi. She massaged so strong that I was in pain a large part of the time, but it was worth it. I was a new man after the session and think Thai massage is the best way to cure a hangover.
